- TERMS & CONDITIONS -

Terms & Conditions

Lesson Payments & Bookings

All lessons must be paid for in advance by bank transfer, cash, or via the approved online booking system before the lesson begins.

Block bookings must be paid for in full in advance in order to qualify for any discounted rate.

Lessons and block bookings are non-transferable without prior agreement from the instructor.

Driving to Success reserves the right to refuse or withdraw tuition services at any time.

Cancellation Policy

Single lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged in full.

For intensive courses, block bookings, or multiple pre-booked lessons, a minimum of 7 days’ notice is required for cancellations or refunds. Cancellations made within 7 days may be charged in full or partially refunded at the instructor’s discretion where the lesson time cannot reasonably be reallocated.

Failure to attend a lesson without notice will result in the lesson being charged in full.

If a pupil does not arrive within 15 minutes of the agreed lesson start time, the lesson may be cancelled and charged in full.

Cancellation requests should be made directly to the instructor via text message, WhatsApp, telephone call, or agreed communication method. Pupils should ensure reasonable confirmation of receipt where possible.

Blocks of lessons must be used within 26 weeks of payment unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Refunds for unused lessons within a block booking will be calculated at the full standard lesson rate for any lessons already completed, with the remaining balance refunded minus a £10 administration fee.

Driving to Success reserves the right to retain payment for any prepaid lessons where diary time has been reserved and cannot reasonably be filled.

Instructor Cancellations

While every effort will be made to keep to arranged lesson times, Driving to Success cannot be held responsible for delays caused by traffic, road closures, breakdowns, weather conditions, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control.

Where possible, lost lesson time will either be added onto the end of the lesson or credited to a future lesson.

On rare occasions, it may be necessary to rearrange lessons due to driving tests, illness, vehicle issues, or unforeseen circumstances.

In the unlikely event that the tuition vehicle becomes unavailable due to mechanical failure or circumstances beyond the instructor’s control, liability will be limited to the refund of any lesson fees already paid for that session.

Weather Conditions

Driving lessons may continue during adverse weather conditions where it is considered safe and appropriate for the pupil’s experience level.

Lessons will only be cancelled where the instructor considers weather or road conditions unsafe. Unless notified otherwise by the instructor, lessons should be assumed to be proceeding as planned.

Online Payments

Lessons may be booked and paid for online via the approved booking platform. Online payments may incur a processing fee. Current charges are displayed within the booking system and may change without notice.

Payments by bank transfer or cash do not incur processing fees.

Driving Licences & Fitness to Drive

Pupils must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence and must present this when requested.

An online DVSA licence check may also be required before lessons commence.

It is the pupil’s responsibility to ensure they are medically fit and legally entitled to drive. Pupils must not attend lessons under the influence of alcohol, drugs, illegal substances, or medication that may impair driving ability.

The instructor reserves the right to terminate or refuse a lesson if the pupil is considered unfit to drive due to illness, fatigue, medication, alcohol, drugs, behaviour, or any other condition that may make driving unsafe or unlawful. In these circumstances the lesson remains chargeable in full.

Pupils should notify the instructor as soon as possible if suffering from illness or contagious conditions.

If corrective glasses or lenses are required to meet legal eyesight standards, these must be worn during all lessons.

Practical & Theory Tests

Pupils are responsible for ensuring they are test-ready before booking practical or theory tests.

Pupils must check instructor availability before booking any practical driving test if they intend to use the tuition vehicle.

The tuition vehicle supplied for test will be taxed, insured, roadworthy, and meet DVSA requirements.

If a pupil’s progress, driving standard, or safety level is considered insufficient for test standard, the instructor reserves the right to refuse use of the tuition vehicle for the test.

Tuition Vehicle & Recording Equipment

Tuition vehicles are fitted with dual controls and may also be fitted with front and rear-facing dash cameras and audio recording devices for safety, security, insurance, and incident investigation purposes.

Recordings may be stored securely and used where necessary for insurance claims, incident investigations, complaints, or legal purposes.

Vehicles supplied for tuition will be insured, taxed, and maintained in accordance with legal requirements.

Tuition in a pupil’s own vehicle may only take place at the instructor’s discretion. The pupil must provide proof that the vehicle is roadworthy, taxed, insured for professional driving instruction, and holds a valid MOT certificate where required.

Professional Standards & Conduct

Driving to Success expects all pupils to behave respectfully and appropriately during lessons.

The instructor reserves the right to terminate tuition immediately where a pupil displays abusive, threatening, aggressive, discriminatory, unsafe, or inappropriate behaviour. Lessons terminated under these circumstances remain chargeable in full.

Instructor Status

Driving instructors working under Driving to Success will be DVSA registered Approved Driving Instructors (ADI) or DVSA licensed Potential Driving Instructors (PDI), fully insured and DBS checked.

Data Protection

Personal information provided by pupils will only be used for lesson administration, legal obligations, safety, and communication purposes, and will not be shared with third parties unless required by law or for insurance/legal purposes.
